Plug the charging cord into an electrical outlet that is not controlled by a light switch.
Place your On the Go unit in the direction indicated by the charging cradle. If done successfully, the device will announce, "Your device is now charging," and the LED light will turn solid red.
Allow you device to charge to. Once the battery is at an acceptable level and the unit is connected to a cellular network, it will announce, "Your device is now ready, If you need to place an emergency call please press and hold the HELP button now."
The first time you turn on your unit it may also announce, "Hello, it is time to test your system to make sure it is working properly. Please press and hold the HELP button for two seconds now." If you hear this message, please test your unit.
It is important to ensure you are connected to a cellular network by checking for signal strength bars on the unit display screen.
Press and hold the HELP button firmly to place a call. When done correctly, the unit will BEEP and announce, "Placing an emergency call now. To cancel the call please press and hold the HELP button for two seconds now."
Once the call connects, speak with the operator about your emergency. If testing, let the operator know you were performing a test call.
Wait for the call to connect with an operator. Once connected, let the operator know that you are ok and there is no emergency.
The device will announce, "Call failed," if a call attempt fails due to network connection or any other reason. In this situation, you should attempt to place the call again, or move to an area with better cellular service.
Press and release the HELP button three times in quick succession. If done successfully, your unit will announce, "Device is powering off. Please confirm by pressing and holding the HELP button now".
After hearing the above message, you can confirm you are turning off your unit by pressing and holding the HELP button. The device will announce, "Powering off now, goodbye."
Press and hold the HELP button firmly for two seconds.
